When should CA125 be measured?
A
If the ultrasound appearance of a mass raises suspicion of a malignancy

What conditions other than ovarian cancer cause elevated CA125?
A
Endometriosis, fibroids, adenomyosis, pelvic infection - it is useful in postmenopausal women

What other biochemical markers are also recommended when assessing for ovarian cancer?
A
AFP, hCG and LDH - in women under 40yrs with a complex mass on ultrasound

What is included in risk of malignancy index (RMI)?
A
RMI = ultrasound findings x menopause status x CA125
