Lady Macbeth’s hallucinations are making her believe she still has Duncan’s blood on her hands. She continues to attempt to wash it away but is captured by inescapability of her actions. She’s slowly getting drifted to madness which is ironic considering her confidence when she believed water can get rid of their deed. This act highlights Lady Macbeth can never get rid of her guilt. This is shown by the physical staining of blood she’s hallucinating. This moment foreshadows her ultimate demise creating a pivotal turn
