Her nightmares cause her to be restless at night and keeps her away from sleep by hallucinations, Normally Lady Macbeth is showcased as this strong woman but now all her vulnerability is presented. ‘Thick coming fancies’ this use of imagery suggests her mind is overflown with disturbing thoughts which prevents her from peace. Her disturbed state shows us her tragic final breakdown after over-ambition.
