after cold or resolving OM. usually benign but may need drainage

ct scan. almost always surgery. eats away at bone. Can lead to labrynthine fistula
most common middle ear neoplasm, symptoms
glomus tympanicum. pulsatile tinnitus
otosclerosis: what is it? loss of what?
new bone around stapes, stapedial fixation, loss of low frequency hearing and stapes reflex.
tx of otosclerosis
stapedectomy with prosthetic except in TM perforation, meineers dz, only hearing ear. In that case do hearing aid
sudden hearing loss: etiology, tx
inflammation from infection/trauma. Give steroids.
acoustic neuromas: presentation, tx
assymmetric HL and tinnitus. observation. surgery if necessary
glomus jugulare
tumor around jugular foramen. benign
Meniere’s dz: symptoms, cause, tx
episodic vertigo, fluctuating HL, tinnitus, aural fullness. Endolymphatic hydrops. Low salt diet, diuretics
