hoffman’s sign
extend third digit and flick distal phalanx into flexion
Neer’s impingement sign
stabilize scapula, passively flex arm in internal rotation
Hawkin’s impingement sign
flex shoulder and elbow to 90* with palm down and internally rotate shoulder
supraspinatus test
“empty can” they act like they’re emptying a can and you push down
infraspinatus test
elbows flexed to 90* with thumbs up. resist them externally rotating arms
subscapularis
arm behind back, provide resistance as they try to further “lift off” their hand
patellar ballottement
extend knee, push patella against femur
lachman test
knee flexed to 30*, stabilize femur and pull tibia anteriorly
mcmurray test
cup heel in one hand, other hand on medial or lateral side of knee. externally or internally rotate heel while applying valgus/varus press.
