Green stick fracture definition
A
Incomplete fracture, causing 1 side (unbroken side) of bone to bend

A
Break is in straight line across the bone

A
Break spirals around bone

Oblique fracture definition
A
Break is diagonal across the bone

Compression fracture definition
A
The bone is crushed; this causes the broken bone to be wider or flatter in appearance

Comminuted fracture definition
A
The bone has broken into 3 or more pieces and fragments are present at the fracture site

Segmental fracture definition
A
The same bone is fractured in 2 places, so there is a “floating” piece of bone
