what are extraneous variables?
variables that need to be controlled so they don’t effect results. If they are not controlled they can become confounding variables
what are confounding variables?
something that can change the results of something
what is a standardised procedure?
experiment carried under controlled conditions where variables are the same. this controls for extraneous variables.
what are investigator effects?
investigator effects are when the investigator or researcher effect the participant’s behaviour
what is social Desirability
it is the the participants give answers they think puts them in a better light to make them look good. This could happen in questionnaires or interviews.

It is the examination of ones thoughts.
