What is the Upper Paleolithic?
- A period that lasted from (roughly) 50,000 to 10,000 years ago
*Upper = more recent (in the context of prehistory; think about an archeological dig: the stuff at the top is more recent than the stuff further down

*Neanderthals in Europe
*First modern humans (Cro-Magnons) arrive circa 40,000 BP (Before Present), beginning in the Mediterranean
*Humans inhabit most of Europe c. 26,000 BP

Why do they call it the Bronze Age?
Bronze Age refers to adoption of tools made from bronze. In areas where these tools persisted for longer, we see a longer Bronze Age
