What are some cues used in orientation?
A
- Auditory.
- Textual changes under foot e.g. different ground surface.
- Gradient/change in slope e.g. ramps, pram ramps etc.

Describe what the following orientation terms mean;
- Rote.
- Route.
- Aerial.
- Self-oriented.

-Rote:
Relies on sequential reference points. Unable to conceptualise route.
-Route:
Reduced need for sequential reference points. Able to conceptualise route.
-Aerial:
Topographical, aerial conceptual understanding of route.
-Self-oriented:
Client has wide variety of familiar and unfamiliar travel routes. Client has good spatial perception, can re-orientate well. Client has the ability to self-orientate to new travel routes.
