List the considerations a client needs to consider when harnessing a Guide Dog?

A
  • Each command should only be given once.
  • Praise.
  • Dog should remain on left hand side.
  • Quiet approach to reduce excitement.
  • Handler shouldn’t kneel or bend as this will excite the dog/invite play.
  • Handler should check equipment is fitted/working correctly.
  • The Harness should be placed from the back forward over the head.
  • The Handler should avoid waving the harness in front of the dog as this will increase anxiety.
