List the considerations a client needs to consider when harnessing a Guide Dog?
A
- Each command should only be given once.
- Praise.
- Dog should remain on left hand side.
- Quiet approach to reduce excitement.
- Handler shouldn’t kneel or bend as this will excite the dog/invite play.
- Handler should check equipment is fitted/working correctly.
- The Harness should be placed from the back forward over the head.
- The Handler should avoid waving the harness in front of the dog as this will increase anxiety.

- Should be fitted accurately to be able to follow and work the dog effectively and safely.
- The client is responsible for maintaining control of dog and fitting the harness.
- Client should be confident with how harness works and in their ability to use equipment.
