Property 1of amylose

A

Unbranched

23
Q

Property 2 of amylose

A

Has 1-4 glycosidic bond

24
Q

Property 3 of amylose

A

Reason for the blue-black color change

25

A

Soluble in water

26
Q

Property 1 of amylopectin

A

Branched

27
Q

Property 2 of amylopectin

A

Has a 1-4 and 1-6 glycosidic bond

28
Q

Property 3 of amylopectin

A

Insoluble in water

29
Q

Property 4 of amylopectin

A

Gives yellow-orange color

30
Q

What do amylose and amylopectin have in common?

A

Both are stored in the plant cell and they both are polymers of alpha glucose

31
Q

Is glycogen functional or structural?

A

Glycogen is functional

32
Q

What do amylopectin and glycogen have in common?

A

They both have the same glycosidic bond formation however glycogen is more branched

33
Q

Is cellulose functional or structural?

A

Cellulose is structural

34
Q

How is cellulose formed?

A

Cellulose is made up of beta glucose which is bonded by 1-4 glycosidic bonds which makes every other molecule inverted to form a straight chain that forms hydrogen bonds between the cellulose making cellulose microfibers which are then connected together and glued together by hemicellulose which then they form cellulose molecules/ fibers
