11
Q

on standby power, what effect will battery depletion have on the gear and flaps

A

ADP in center hydraulic system requires DC power to operate. when ADP quits, there will be no center gydraulic system pressure, therefore no way to operate gear and no flaps hydraulically (ADP air supply valve will close when DC power is lost)

12
Q

Purpose of the bus tie system (PPI123)

A

P-prevents paralleling of L or R main buses
P-provides power to both main buses
I-isolates faults
1- allows DC bus tie breaker to close with loss of DC power
2-allows Capts flight insturment to remain powered with loss of left AC bus
3-allows F?Os flight insturments to remain powered with loss of right AC bus

16
Q

what items are normally powered by ground service bus

A

main battery charger
APU battery charger
misc cabin systems

17
Q

normal souce of power for for ground service bus

A

right main AC bus

18
Q

alternate souces of power for ground service bus

A

APU Generator

external power

19
Q

What happens to the electical system once engines are started and external or APU electical power was in use

A

IDG automatically powers respective main bus and previous power source is disconnected from that bus

20
Q

whe dose the HDG (hydrolic driven generator) activate automatically

A

L and R AC buses are unpowered

21
Q

which hydraulic system drives the HDG

A

Center

22
Q

HDG provides power to

A

battery and hot battery buses
standby AC and DC buses
L and R AC trasfer buses
Captians flight instument transfer bus

23
Q

how can the FOs flight instruments be powered by the HDG

A

ALTN on the FLT INSTR BUS PW switch

24
Q

How is fuel supplied to APU when AC power is available

A

Left FWD AC fuel pump

25
Q

How is fuel supplied to APU during start on an unpowered aircraft

A

DC fuel pump in left main tank

26
Q

how do you reset APU fault detection circuity in the case of a transient fault

A

slect OFF

27
Q

where are the APUs EGT and RPM indications located

A

Status page

28
Q

What are APU starter duty limitations

A

3 start attemps in 60 min

29
Q

how does the APU FAULT light affect operation

A

immediate automatic shutdown with no times cool down

30
Q

will APU shut down immediately if selected off with APU BLEED valve open

A

No, a time delay is incorporated to allow for APU cool down

31
Q

how will turning BATTERY switch to OFF with APU running affect the APU on the ground

A

APU will shut down after a cool down cycle. Not recommended due to loss of APU Fire Detection

32
Q

why will the center tank fuel be used before the main tanks with all fuel tank pumps operating

A

center tanks fuel pumps have twice pump output pressure of main pumps

33
Q

when will center tank pumps operate

A

respective engine is abover 50% N2
