When attending an Aircraft incident primary concern beyond Immeadiate crew safety is what?
To ensure that sufficient resources are being mobilised to deal with the incident.

The OIC must ensure that an informative/assistance message is sent with the following information:-
- Location - with best approach.
- Number of passengers and crew (A380 can carry 600).
- Fuel Loads (larger amount on take off).
- Hazardous Cargo - details and quantities.
- Wind direction (positioning of RVP).
- Aircraft type- (civilian, cargo, military etc).

What action should be taken if the aircraft is involved in fire?
- Fire should be extinguished asap to save life and minimise injury.
- Remaining post fires should be dealt with, to preserve evidence.
- The wreckage should be disturbed as little as possible.
- Use of foam may hide important evidence.
- Foam should only be used if a real significant fire hazard exists.

When attending incidents involving Helicopters what should be taken into consideration?
- Main Rotor
- Tail Rotor
- Fuel and fuel tanks
- Electrical systems
- Water actuated devices
- ADELT (Automatic Deployed Electronic Locating Transmitter)
- Inflatable buoyancy aids

When attending incidents involving Military Aircraft what should be taken into consideration?
- Weapons
- Pyrotechnics
- Defence Suites
- Radar radiation hazard
- Infra- red and laser emissions
- Aircraft assisted escape systems

When attending incidents involving Military Aircraft, emergency access (using MDC) to the cockpit should be done by the following procedure:-
- approach in full view of aircrew.
- Aircrew may operate MDC (miniature detonating cord) - if indicated face away 3m forward of cockpit, or crouch lower than sill.
- If FRS personnel to operate MDC maintain 3m safety cordon.
- Remove cable from storage.
- Move to safety with visors down
- the cable can be extended by line if necessary.
The canopy can be cut using power saw or disc cutter in extreme circumstances
DO NOT USE HYDRAULIC RESCUE EQUIPMENT

When attending incidents involving Military Aircraft, Rescue of Aircrew: Ejector Seat should be done by the following procedure:-
- Operate safe seat lever or sear pins.
- Remove oxygen mask - do not remove helmet.
- Disconnect personal equipment connector.
- Disconnect survival pack.
- Disconnect arm/leg restraints.
- Release main harness
Beware of possible spinal injury, await medical assistance.
