- examples: atropine, cyclopenntolate, tropicamide (all are psns antichol blocking iris + ciliary body muscles dilating pupil), phenylephrine
- uses: dilate pupil to visualise retina, ambylopia
- SE: whitening of eyelids, sting, redness of face in atropine
