What is Organizational Behavior?
A
OB is the Study of individuals and groups in organizations.
A body of knowledge, which tries to improve organizational performance based on ways the managers interact and manage their employees.

Four functions of Management
A
- Controlling (Monitoring performance, taking result oriented actions)
- Planning (setting objectives, deciding how to accomplish those)
- Organising (Dividing work, Assigning people, Allocating resources, coordinating results)
- Leading (creating vision, inspiring commitment, focusing efforts on a common purpose)

Traditional vs. Re-engineered Work Values

- Boss pays our salary vs. Customers pay our salary
- Pass problem to others vs. Accept ownership of problems
- Build an empire vs. Build teams
- The future is predictable vs. Future is uncertain

Changed role of managers in new work place
A
Managers have become more of a partner (less bossy), facilitator, supporter (less judging) and coach (less criticizing).
Therefore they have new Tasks in the organization:
Developing people and developing oneself
