what is an absolute contraindication to giving another dose of the DTaP vaccine?
encephalopathy within 7 days of a previous dose
can you give the HPV vaccine to a sexually active teen?
yes, it will provide immunity as long as they are not already infected. Start as early as 9.
mom has an unknown Hep B status or +Hep surface antigen delivering a baby. what do you do?
Hep B vaccine to baby now. Check mom’s status. Give HepB IG to baby if cannot obtain mom status in a timely fashion.
mom has Hep B and is delivering baby, what do you do?
give baby Hep B IG and vaccine
dirty wound, >3 lifetime doses of tetanus shot, <5 years since the last one-what do you do?
send home, no further management needed.
