  • Undifferentiated nausea and vomiting
  • Prophylaxis for spinally immobilised or eye injured Pts
  • Vestibular (inner ear) nausea in Pts <21y/o

What are some contraindications for Ondansetron?

A
  • Known hypersensitivity
  • Concurrent Apomorphine (Parkinson’s) use
  • Known Long Q-T syndrome
  • Hypokalaemia or hypomagnesaemia

What are some precautions of Ondansetron?

A
  • Pts with liver disease should not receive more than 8mg/day
  • Pts on diuretics who may have underlying electrolyte imbalance
  • Not to be given to Pts with phenylketonuria (PKU)
  • Concurrent use of Tramadol
  • Pregnancy
