It draws the upper lip backward, upward and outward as in smiling

Located in the cheek and is important for mastication. It maintains the skin against the teeth during chewing. It aids with whistling and sucking.
Origin of platysma
The skin of the face and mandible and descends
into the superficial fascia of the neck
Insertion of platysma
The pectoralis major and deltoid muscles
Action of platysma
Tenses the skin of the neck.

Floor of the temporal fossa
