OETD second engine start

Pump,
Bleed,
Mode selector IGN,
Confirm engine and start.

Question 2

OETD eng off

Answer 2

Eng 2 off
Elec pump on.

(Leave the bleed off- you only need it to turn the engine on)

OETD start up

Start 1 as normal,
APU stays on
Yellow electric pump goes on (PF)

3 mins before T/O (PM)
Yellow pump off
APU bleed ON
Mode selector IGN
Eng 2 master confirm and on
After start procedure apply
After start checklist.

Question 4

OETA- what is the procedure?

Answer 4

Check that 3 minutes has passed using the OOOI.

If it has, then confirm eng TWO, shut down, then elec pump on.

Question 5

When might we not do a OETD or OETA?

Answer 5

If it looks likely we will need to go uphill at any point, be slowed to a stop by waiting traffic, or if the taxi is very short.

Additionally, we cannot do a OETA or OETD if the hydraulics , APU, NWS, BLEEDs aren’t working, OR if the surface is contaminated or icy.
