Preposition
Something that is placed before a noun or pronoun (generally express relations of time and/or space)
Word of caution about prepositions and adverbs
Some words can act as both prepositions AND adverbs
Ex: They walked up the stairs | They walked up
I ate before work | I ate before
She helped me through the woods | She helped me through
I passed by the store | I passed by
Annuit coeptis meaning and history
Meaning: He/she/it has agreed to what has been undertaken
Origin is that Jupiter, the highest god of the Roman pantheon, is asked to agree with the actions of the Romans-to-be in coming to Italy and defeating the local Italians. The idea behind the Great Seal is that a divine being has agreed to the Americans creating the United States
