A. Presence of obsession, compulsion or both
obsession:
1 recurrent/persistant thought/urges/images. intrusive and cause anxiety
2 attempt to ignore/supress or neutralize w other thought/action.
Compulsion:
1. Repetitive behavior, feels driven to perform in response toi obsession/rules
2. Aimed at preventing/reducing anxiety, but not connected in realistic way.
B. Obsess/comp. are time consuming or cause clinically sign. distress
