A
  • Confederate was given tasks. If they got it wrong, the participant was asked to press buttons which gave (unbeknownst to the participant) fake shocks to the confederate, who would scream. Shocks were of increasing intensity
  • Experimenter wouldn’t let them stop
  • Most people obeyed them despite resistance.
