NVC - A Helping Hand - Intro Flashcards
The purpose of NVC is what?
The purpose of NVC is to create a connection between us where we wish for everyone’s needs to be considered and met to the greatest possible extent.
Conflict always contains what?
Conflict always contains gifts.
Mediation can be seen as an opportunity to open a present that until now has been wrapped up, and as a result to be able to finally appreciate the gift inside.
A mediator can be the one who does the opening. In mediation the gift (the conflict) has come in a very challenging wrapping.
What is gained when a mediator helps all involved gain a more humane view of each other?
When we un-villianized and re-humanize others, we recognize ourselves and our compassion awakes. This also creates more ease around the process of working towards enabling everyone to have their needs met.
When you use NVC to mediate, you focus primarily on what?
When you use NVC to mediate, you focus primarily on creating connection between all parties. This connection is fundamental in finding solutions where everyone’s needs are cared for and met to the greatest possible extent. No matter what has previously happened, as a mediator you focus on connection.
