Define nuclear imaging and give an example of type of nuclear scan

- It is the application of radioactive substances to diagnose physiological changes in tissue (not physical/structural)
- Bone scans (bone scintigraphy) are used to look for metastatic cancers, Paget’s disease, and when pain can’t be defined
