Amazon Mechanical Turk
A
- service provided by amazon, a platform where experimenters or employers can publish tasks, people perform and get paid for their work, excellent for everything that doesn’t need participants to be in the lab (survey, questionnaires, ratings)
- Sends participants to some external site where the study can be found
- Questions can be open ended or closed questions (multiple choice)
- Templates for language research

- Provide stimuli in spliced segments
- A technique used to determine how much segmental information is necessary to uniquely identify a word. Subjects are presented with increasingly large parts of a word and are asked to guess what the word is going to be
- Typically recognize word before it is fully pronounced

- Condense everything a lot
o i.e. lit review 1-2 bullet points - references need to be visible but small as space is limited on poster
- common mistake is to not say what the axis are/mean
