A

traditional behavior or way of life; nothing happens if a folkway is not followed
-ex/ when someone is introdcued to you, you speak to them even though nobody tell you to do so

A

essential or characteristic customs and conventions; there is a stronger reaction in certain situations; there are consequences to breaking a more; more can often change
-ex/ if a baby is running nake in the front lawn it is not as big of a deal as if a grown man was doing the same act

social custom prohibiting a particular practice; strongest type of norm; don’t need laws to tell you; very strong reaction to not following one
