FO Engine Start Procedure

A
  1. APU BL AIR: PRESS OUT (DARK)
  2. RECIRC FAN: OFF
  3. Start SELECT Switch: SELECT 1 or 2
  4. START Pushbutton: PRESS MOMENTARILY
  5. Condition Lever: START & FEATHER
  6. Engine Start: Monitor
    (After Start SELECT Switch Resets)
  7. BLEED 1 or 2 (as appropriate): ON
    (Repeat steps 3-7 for other engine)
    (Once both engines have been started)
  8. RECIRC FAN: RECIRC

(If APU is Running)

  1. APU GEN: PRESS OUT (DARK)
  2. APU PWR: PRESS OUT (DARK)

  3. PTU CONTROL: PRESS IN (ON)
  4. Hydraulic Pressure: CHECK
  5. TANK 1 & 2 AUX PUMP switches: PRESS IN (ON)
  6. MTOP switch (if used): PRESS IN (SELECT)
  7. AUTOFEATHER switch: PRESS IN (SELECT)
  8. ESID Control Panel: SELECT #2 TO NAV
  9. DEICE PRESS 1 & 2 indicator: CHECK

  1. Flaps: SELECT UP ONE NOTCH AT A TIME TO 0 DETENT
  2. MTOP switch (if used): PRESS OUT
  3. Condition Levers: SLIDE AFT ONE DETENT TO PROPS 900
  4. BLEED 1 & 2: CONFIRM ON
  5. Bleed Flow Control: NORM

(When Flaps Indicate 0)
7. “Flaps Zero”: ANNOUNCE

(When PF calls “After Takeoff Checklist”)

  1. AUTOFEATHER Switch: PRESS OUT (DARK)
  2. TANK 1 & 2 AUX PUMP switches: PRESS OUT (DARK)
  3. STBY HYD PRESS switch: PRESS OUT (DARK)
  4. PTY CNTRL switch: PRESS OUT (DARK)
  5. NO SMOKING Switch: SELECT OFF
  6. Pressurization: CONFIRM NORMAL
  7. TAXI Switch: OFF/PULSE
  8. Ice Protection: AS REQUIRED
