Normal EKG Flashcards
In what leads is the P wave upright?
1,2, V4-V6, & AVF
In what leads is P wave inverted?
Inverted; AVR
If upright, indicates a nodal or junctional rhythm
In what leads is the P Wave variable?
3, AVL, and other leads
PR Interval is defined as?
Beginning of P wave to beginning of QRS complex
Time: 0.12-0.20 seconds
QRS complex is defined as ?
Ventricular depolarization; 0.05-0.10 seconds in duration
What does a QRS complex duration of greater than 0.12 seconds indicate?
BBB or Ventricular Hypertrophy
Q Waves; they are narrow and small, usually seen in what leads?
Lead I, AVL, AVF, V5, V6
If a Q wave is not seen in AVF, V5, and V6; what is indicated?
LBB
What does a depressesd ST Segment indicate?
Sub endocardial injury
What does an elevated ST segment indicate?
Subepicardial or trans mural injury or ischemia
T wave height is not greater than what in precordial leads & standard leads?
Precordial Leads: < 10 mm
Standard Leads: < 5mm
What should the width of the QRS complex be?
Less than 50% of the R-R interval
ST Segment depression also normally occurs in what case?
After exercise
ST Segment elevation is considered to be normal in what case?
Possible w/ healthy african american men
