A verb without tense: inifinitve, -ing participle, past participle
What type of clause are non-finite clauses
always a subordinate clause
non-finite verbs cannot support being a main clause
What types of clauses are non-finite clauses?
1) infinitive clauses: verb in the infinitive w/ infinitives marker
i.e I want you to understand
2) -ing participle clauses: verb in the progressive
i.e I suggested meeting her for coffee.
3) Past participle clauses:
i.e It was Bach’s only work written for five
instruments.
4) Verbless clauses:
i.e Sad and tired, she sat down.
