a term used to describe a range of conditions caused by the build-up of fat in the liver due to causes other than excessive alcohol use

- hepatomegaly
- signs of cirrhosis

- LFTs
- Liver USS
- ELF blood test

what are the conservative measures that can be taken for NASH?
A
- one can lose weight
- reduce BP
- control diabetes
- reduce cholestrol
- stop smoking
- exercise regularly
- reduce alcohol consumption

- cirrhosis

- hepatic encephalopathy
- hepatocellular carcinoma

prognosis for NASH?
A
- 20% go on to develop cirrhosis
