A

Acute but transient compromise in the blood flow to the large bowel. Occurs in the watershed areas.

A

o Old age
o AF – mesenteric ischaemia
o causes of emboli- endocarditis, malignancy
o CVS risk- smoking, hypertension, diabetes
o Cocaine - ischaemic colitis
