- Opened in 1980s and employs 6700 people
- Indirectly employs a further 27000 people
- Restrictions on exhaust emissions means that cars are build to be more efficient and cleaner
- Materials used are all recycled, reducing landfill waste
- In 2005, Nissan installed wind turbines and a solar farm in 2016
- According to Nissan, the onsite renewables will be enough to build every zero-emission Nissan leaf in Europe
