We have a balance or curiosity of the unknown and maintaining safety by embracing the known. Disgust helps us avoid unknown. Like poisoning ourselves or outsiders. People other than us. It is used by the powers that be to turn people against other groups of people. It is historical ly used to manipulate opinions. It’s like fear and linked to social ostracized.
