Newton Flashcards
1
Q
Newton’s First Law - Law of Inertia
A
- A body in motion tends to stay in motion, a body at rest tends to stay at rest.
- Also known as :Principle of conservation of momentum”
- Momentum (p) = m * V
- Momentum is constant in the absense of a net external force
- Think no air bag!
2
Q
Newtons Second Law - Law of Acceleration
A
- The change in motion is proportional to the force applied and is made in a straight line where that force is applied
- Force = mass * acceleration
- Acceleration and Force are directly proportional
- Acceleration and mass are indirectly proportional
3
Q
Newton’s Third Law - Law of Action-Reaction
A
For every action there must always be an equal and opposite reaction
Ex: GRF
4
Q
Osteoporosis and Vibration
A
May be a future treatment to strengthen bone!
5
Q
If acceleration is zero, biomechanical study of the human is referred to as…..
A
static analysis
6
Q
If acceleration is NOT zero and is significant, biomechanical study of the human is referred to as…
A
dynamic analysis
