Active untreated TB need to wait 2 w Maternal HIV Herpetic breast lesion Active abuse of street drugs or alcohol Chemo or radiation Varicella
Routine newborn resuscitation steps
Dry and stimulate
Clear airway as needed
Provide warmth like skin to skin contact with mother all of this if baby is term just station and breathing or crying and appropriate tone
Transient tachypnea of the newborn Causes, versus aspiration of infected amniotic fluid
Retained fetal long fluid wrist factors like cesarean delivery prematurity maternal diabetes chest x-ray hyper inflation and fluid in fissures
Treatment is supportive self resolution in 1 to 3 days
Differential diagnosis aspiration of Infected amniotic fluid but the baby will have bacteremia back to real pneumonia you will see infiltrate on chest x-ray and crackles
