- Believe education should socialise pupils into shared values and provide sense of national security

A
New right don’t believe state can run an efficient education system

- too much state control resulted in inefficenity, national economic decline and lack of personal/business initiative
- state ed has lack of competition resulting in poor standards
- state run schools not accountable to those who use them
- state education system ends up as one size fits all which doesn’t work
