Pin Prick Sensation
Tested with a Monofilament (a small plastic pin device used to test prick sensation)
Light Touch Sensation
Tested by slightly brushing against the feet/toes.
Vibratory sensation
Tested by a Tuning fork (vibrating device used to test vibratory sensation and can also be used to test bone fractures)
Paresthesias
Abnormal dermal sensations including tingling, numbness, or burning sensations.
Intermetatarsal nerve pain
Indicative of a neuroma, especially with radiation to the toes.
Charcot Marie Tooth disease
Hereditary neurological degenerative disorder leading to sensation loss and muscle wasting due to lack of muscle innervation by the nerves. Can cause Pes Cavus.
