-abrupt onset of signs/sx ~15 days after drug use Sx: -Fever, rash, joint pain -Eosinophilia, ^Serum IgE -50%: acute renal failure (BUN:CR trigger Type 1 or IV hypersensitvity rx Type I: -^IgE Type IV: -mononuclear/granulomatous infiltrate

Analgesic Nephropathy
A
-chr excessive intake of analgesics
–> chr tubulointerstitial nephritis
+ renal papillary necrosis
-Major cause: acetaminophen, aspirin
Other causes: caffeine, codeine, phenacetin
-Most common complication= renal papillary necrosis
