Primary Survey
A
- Confirm there are no D-Spine precautions
- Assess lvl of consciousness (AVPU scale)
- Assess and manage ABC’s as required (see textbook)
- Complete RBS
- Consider blow by O2
- Consider position for management of ABC’s

Decision Point
A
All neonates requiring resuscitation are RTC

Findings in Unstable PT Include
A
- APGAR is critically low (6 or less)
- Requiring ABC interventions (HR < 60 initiate chest compressions) and (HR 60-100 initiate BVM)

Load and Transport
A
Transport PT and infant securely as soon as possible and notify receiving hospital

Secondary Survey
A
- Critical history
- Patient history (SAMPLE & OPQRRRST)
- Vital signs
- Notifications (ISBAR)
- Head to Toe and functional Inquiry

- Continue care & ongoing assessments for both birth giver & neonate
