A
  1. Early recognition+response
    1. Test: nasopharyngeal swab
  2. IV antibitic: Ceftriaxone
  3. Supportive care- manage organ dysfunction and DIC

A

Petechiae: Discrete lesions- 1-2mm thick

=low platelet count, tiny bleed into skin

=rash does not blanch when pressure applied (TUMBLER TEST)

A

Petechial lesions that have coalesced=secondary to subcutaneous haemorrhage. Patient likely to have severe DIC

A

Combination: Vascular damage, lack of blood and oxygen to skin, clots in small vessels, haemorrhage
