A
life threatening infection of subcutaneous and deep soft tissue

what causes necrotising fascitis?
A
-streptococcus pyogenes
OR
-mixed anaerobes/ aerobes following GI surgery

how does necrotising fascitis present?
A
-spreading erythema and swelling with severe pain disproportionate to clinical signs

what is the treatment for necrotising fascitis?
A
-treat with urgent surgical debridement and IV antibiotics
