what is a chronic leg ulcer?
A
an open lesion between the knee and ankle joint that remains unhealed for atleast 4 weeks

risk factors for leg ulcer?
A
- increase in age
- diabetic
- arterial disease
- rhematoid arthritis

what are some investigations for leg ulceration?
A
ABPRI- to tell if there is arterial disease
Wound swab- only if ulcer increasingly painful/exudate/maldour/enlarging
Bloods
Patch test- for ulcer treatment (bandages, creams)
Duplex scan
