History Of Pak’s Disaster Risk Management?
1) NATIONAL CALAMITIES ACT, 1958:
* in west pak
* Act provides maintaince and restoration
* Focus on organising emergency response
2) FLOOD CONTROL PROGRAM 1960:
* Made it way to fourth-Five year plan
* but was never materialised
3) EMERFENCY RELIEF CELL 1971:
* with in cabinet division
* Provide assistance in cash
* supply the resources in need
4) NATIONAL DISASTER PLAN, 1974:
* by federal emergency relief cell
* first plan to envisage:
i) Procedures
ii) organisational structure
iii) responding agencies
iv) monitoring relief operations
Disaster management Framework in Pak?
*promulgation of DRM ordinance 2006
*NDMA as a coordinating body to facilitate implement DMP.
