what was the Gestapo?
Nazi state secret police
when was the Gestapo established?
in April 1933 by Hermann Goring who had control over all of Prussia’s police network as he was the Prussian interior minister
when did Goring appoint Himmler as the chief of the Gestapo?

this gave the SS a foothold in the Gestapo which would only get deeper and larger
