What decree did Hitler pass after the Reichstag fire?
On 28 February 1933, the Decree of the Reich President for the Protection of People and State was issued by Hindenburg after being advised by Hitler.
What did the Decree of the Reich President for the Protection of People and State do?
It stripped all German citizens basic rights such as a right to a fair trial. German citizens could now be arrested without a charge. Hitler had no plan to scrap this decree. The Gestapo and the SS would thrive from this decree.
What did Hitler do to the Communists?
He expelled the communists from Parliament and arrested many leaders.

Nazis win 288 seats in the Reichstag
However this is not a majority so Hitler’s Enabling Act cannot be passed
What was the Enabling Act?
It would give Hitler autocratical powers to make whatever laws and decrees he wanted without passing them through the Reichstag.

It was the passed on the 23 March 1933
SA stormtroopers were present in the Reichstag and intimidated the non-Nazi Reichstag members.
