Only printed stories favourable to government

Editors told what to print + headlines

I’d government did not approve of a newspaper then they would be shut down

Closes down news papers of opponents/ bought over others

People became tired of reading the same message- 1939 newspaper circulation had fallen

As Nazis produced millions of cheap sets with a limited range- Listeners could only pick up Nazi stations

A

1933- unemployment 6 million, Hitler promised Bread and work
1939 no unemployment

Created jobs- public works, building autobahns

Removed women and Jews from statistics- Jews and women sacked jobs given to German workers

1935- conscription

War- shipyards, aircraft, uniforms, munitions industry jobs

Refused to work- concentration camps
