6
Q

How does the FMC calculate a turn in LNAV

A

Evaluates 5 min prior
uses bank angle limit (based on wt and alt)

(FMC tries to use a bank that will not effect ALT or A/S)

Q

How do you build a WPT in the middle of no where

A

4 ways

place bearing/place bearing = RZS320/AVE195

place bearing/distance = ZONAL270/15

Lat/Long = N25W018 or N3538.8W12136.2 (for decimals)

PICK WPT on ND = moves a lat/long to the scratchpad

(dont forget to close out the route discontinuity)

A

Actual navigation performance

0.06 = 0.06 nm radius of a circle that the aircraft is in 95 % of the time

38
Q

What is RNP

A

required navigation performance

depends on phase of flight
Oceanic
En-Route
Terminal
Approach
39
Q

How do we deal with the requirement for True north in the FMC Polar Region

A

We dont, all done automatically

If Heading Ref is NORM

40
Q

What is used for ATC DATALINK

A

CPDLC - Controller to Pilot DataLink comunications

41
Q

What are the 3 VNAV Modes

A

VNAV SPD -commanding pitch to maintain airspeed
pink bug and pink speed at top of tape

VNAV PTH - commanding pitch to maintain vertical path

VNAV ALT - Temparary ALT hold Mode - Due to MCP alt it holds until it can climb to the planned VNAV PTH

42
Q

Just after rotation what speed is targeted by the the FMC

A

V2 + 15 kts

or

Air Speed at rotation + 15 kts whichever is greater

43
Q

When does LNAV and VNAV engage during T/O

A

LNAV - 50 ft

VNAV - 400 ft

44
