Pressurization System Flashcards
How is the pressurization controlled
2 outflow valves FWD and AFT equally
Can both valves control the cabin on their own?
yes
What protects the fuselage against excessive pressure differential
2 Positive pressure relief
4 negative pressure relief valves
Where does the pressurization system get its schedule for flight
FMC
Where is the pressure indication normally displayed
its not, but EICAS if non normal operation
how can you read the gage
OP - Open
CL - Closed
M - indicates manual mode
what is triangle P indicate
Cabin Differential Pressure
What are the cabin Indication colors for all indications
Yellow for above normal range
Red for excessive conditions
What does a blank LDG ALT indicate?
no valid FMC LDG alt is available
how do you know if a man altitude or Auto
1400 auto (white)
1400 man (yellow)
What is the default cruise altitude when not available form FMC
43,000 ft
Where does the Landing altitude barometric pressure for scheduling come from
Captains Altimeter setting
How does is the pressure scheduled for a high alt take offs and Landings
T/O - > 8,000 ft cabin descends to target altitude right away
LDG - > 8,000ft cabin climbs as it descends to arrive at elevation on landing
Can you manual set the Landing Altitude
yes with knob pulled on the pressurization panel
-2,000ft ASL to 14,000
What will happen if the landing alt is not available from the FMC and is not in MAN
EICAS message LANDING ALTITUDE
Altitude controller assumes 2,000 ft
