Hydraulics Flashcards
Where is HYD system indications displayed
HYD synoptic and on STAT page
Press and QTY
What do each systems Power
L&R System:
Flight Controls
L&R Spoilers
same side engine thrust reverser
Center System: (High load components) Flight Controls L&R Spoilers Ldg Gear Slats Nose Gear steering Flaps
What pumps are used for Left and Right HYD system
Primary - EDP (eng driven pump)
Secondary - EMP (Electric Motor-Driven Pump)
(EMP only used when demand is high or EDP had failed)
What pumps are used for the Center HYD system
2 EMP’s (C1 & C2)
rotates primary role every calendar day
Describe the RAT
5,000 PSI pump
Emerg source of HYD Press and Elec power
Pressurizes the Center HYD system and Primary flight control components only
(can supply HYD and Elec simultaneously)
How is QTY displayed on the STAT pg
displayed as a % of normal service level
(LO - LOw
RF - requires ReFilling
OF - Over Full)
Can you transfer HYD pressure or fluid from one system to another
NO
When will FAULT in Yellow on the Primary Eng pump switch
Pressure is low
high fluid temp
switched off
What does the Fire switch pulled do to the HYD
closes the SOV and HYD fluid to the ENG pump is cut off
What are the RT & LT Demand Pump (EMP) three control positions for
OFF
AUTO - operate to system Logic
ON - run continuously with Non-Normal procedure
(Same for the Center EMP)
When do the L & R Demand Pump (EMP) work automatically
Low Press
On GRD for the first 3 Min after second eng is started
T/O Thrust to Flap Retracted
Gear down RA < 1,000 ft until GS < 40 kts
Thrust reverser operation
When does the FAULT lite below each of the 4 EMP switch illuminate
operation but low press
fluid temp excessive
pump off
When do the Center Demand Pumps (EMP) work automatically
Low Press
On GRD for the first 3 Min after second eng is started
T/O Thrust to RA > 2,000 ft
Gear down RA < 2,000 ft until A/S < 60 kts
when Flaps and Slats are in motion
When does auto isolation occur
in the event of leak
purpose to protect gear and NWS operation
Can the RAT be stowed after deployment
NO
