What does Myasthenia Gravis cause
muscle weakness that increases with activity, improves with rest

droopling eyelids (ptosis)

- diplopia
- dysphagia
- shortness of breath

Nursing care for a patient with Myasthenia Gravis
- maintain airway
- assist w/ ambulation
- encourage periods of rest
What diet should a patient with Myasthenia Gravis be on
provide small, frequent, high calories meals
- monitor for choking, aspiration
- monitor albumin levels
Eye care for a patient with Myasthenia Gravis
- administer eye drops
- tape eye lids shut at night to prevent corneal drying/damage
